After participating in this activity, the learner will be able to: (1) Report at least two indications for point-of-care gastric ultrasound to evaluate gastric content; (2) Identify the cricothyroid membrane in the longitudinal airway scan; (3) Assess the range of pharmacological techniques that are available for opioid-sparing anesthesia and analgesia for the bariatric surgical patient; (4) Discuss high flow nasal cannula and CPAP pre-oxygenation and rapid insufflation ventilatory exchange in obese patients; and (5) Describe the clinical implications and management of OSA during pregnancy.
